How-to manage your ignore list

Matrix has an “Ignore user” feature. This feature, when used, prevents a Matrix user from reaching you. Please note that this only affects you, and does not block the particular user for other people in your room or Homeserver.

Add a Matrix user to your Ignore list

If you want to ignore a user, follow the steps below:

  • Select the user avatar from a chat room.
  • A side panel opens on the right side of the Element client.
  • In the “Options” category, select “Ignore”.

Check and manage your Ignore list

If you want to check and manage users in your ignore list, you can do that following the steps below:

  • Select your user avatar, on the top left corner of your Element client, and click on it.
  • Select the option “:lock: Security & Privacy”.
  • Scroll down to the “Advanced” section.
  • Check the “Ignored Users” list.
